I couldnt sleep all night and I have been trowing up I am so scared to loose my babies.

BTW I have 2 acres of land so its not like I am bothering anyone, and my neighbors dont mind, the complainer does not even live by me.

That's so weird, all the "small holdings" and rural residential AND village property owners here have farm stands big and small. I hope this gets cleared up, it certainly is not fair!

i really dont know what to do I dont know if I should run around putting up a high privasy fence (cant afford it) or sell all my birds this weekend, or stick them all in the house, and what am I gonna do if they make me get rid of everything???? All my work and time ruined because I was so stupid to have a farm stand, but when I checked the town ordinance it did not say they were not allowed. I am in some gray area they say since my area is not zoned for retail or ag.I cant do it.

That is just terrible. What is it hurting? With all the bad things happening and all the sickos living around it's just too bad how they have to pick at people just enjoying what they love to do. Best of luck.

I'm so sorry to hear this. The thing that stuck out with me is why would the State of NY issue and permit if it could be negated by the town? I think it would be in the States best interest to check that out before approving one for you. I've no experience or knowledge of these permits but it was the thing in the article that stuck out.

Also if you are in good graces with your neighbors is there a petition process you can initiate? Is there any wiggle room at all? Of course the code guy wouldn't want you to know about it but maybe call someone else?

It makes me sick when I hear that government gets so pushy with things. You'd think they would applaud self sufficiency in its citizens. Sending positive thoughts.
