This pallet coop is sweet. I'm planning on doing one very similair but with some differences. It will be FIFO (fly in fly out) because I'm lazy and don't want to open and close the door every day. I've seen chickens trained to fly in a high window, so high that hopefully foxes and cats can't jump into. Also I'll just have a chicken wire or hardware cloth floor so that I never have to clean it. I found some 90x90mm 3.6m cypress posts at the hardware store. They are expensive ($50ea) but apart from pine treated with copper arsenate that's all I can find. If I buy two and cut them in half they can be the legs and it would be at least 3ft off the ground. Plus the 4ft pallet it would be 7ft tall so the window could be 6ft high. Also mine would be in a freerange situation, no run attached. How many chicken could live in a pallet sized coop with multiple roosts at different levels and directions?
