Thanks, I'm having some really nice marked chicks out of my trio. They are selling as fast as I can hatch them, and I have a waiting list right now. Thinking I need to add another pied hen before next season. I think I would be crowding my breeding pen if I added two more.
How big of pens do most keep 4-5 peafowl in?? Mine is 24 ft by 32 ft. that my trio is in.

momhunter wow lots of room in your pen for 3...i have 4 in 4 10x10x6 dog pens(all connected into different runs but all 1 pen)
so not sure what total size my pen is because of way we just kept adding pens shaped funny....

It seems the usually recommended pen size is at least 100 square feet per pea.
Some peapeople here recommend much more room than that, though.

Ok here is chick 19. I cannot tell you who the parents are because the chick pipped at the wrong end and then the next day it pipped at the middle and then it pipped at the air end of the egg and the egg cracked open from the chick moving and it was laying on the incubator floor with it's yok sac still out. I left it in there for another hour then removed to the brooder. It has dried blood still on it and I will give it a warm bath and remove the blood once the yok sac is absorbed. When I took the egg shell out the egg split from pointy side to round end length wise but the shell was still cracked itno pieces and when I tossed it it fell apart and I forgot to look at who's pen it came from but I believe it was the charcoal and the pied or Ares and the IB w/e hen but I will know in a couple days as the feathers start to show. I am curious about it's coloring, the wing feathers are already a dark tan at a day old???
