My Pekin ducks are too loud!!!

I agree with the others about not panicking, and not dumping your animals at the park.

If time is short, you can temporarily house your ducks with the chickens. Yes it might be stressful for them, but if its temporary then it will be ok.

Also like someone else said, I am sure your HOA (I hate HOA's) will either give you a reasonable amount of time, or can be contacted and talked into giving you a reasonable amount of time to move them.

As long as they know your working on a solution and not planning to keep them at the city house permanently then they should be able to be patient.

I usually leave them out. They don't have a coop or anything but tonight, I think I'm gonna try putting them in a little area that they can get out of if they want so they don't get stressed but it doesn't hurt to try and assign them a little designated bed area.
Idk where you live, but afaik there is no place on the North-American continent where i would leave my ducks out overnight. It is like russian-roulette, one night a racoon, fox, coyote, bobcat, ... will get one of your ducks or both. I learned it the hard way when a 'coon took away one of my young Buff Orpington ducks. Believe me you don't want to hear one of your ducks screaming for her life… I almost p*ked.

Please listen to Hillbilly! He is 100% correct! Oh and don't forget owls and hawks!
Aaarghh! - I will have nightmares tonight! :barnie
Birds of prey are the weak spot in my duck sanctuary: There is no way i could cover an area of >5,000 ft² with any kind of netting. And the reflective tape didn't survive the recent hailstorm - golf-ball size hailstones.
My ducks completely rely on a huge neighborhood of craws who did a great job in chasing off all BoPs so far. They get some duck-food in exchange.

I always leave my ducks out. Since we got them, they have lived outside. We moved them outside about 2 months ago. For the first week or so though, we had a kiddie pool with wood shavings in front of our door so we could see them and keep an eye. Eventually, I would wake up in the morning to check on them and they would be sitting right in front of the pool and eventually they would be on the other side of the yard. The cats never touched them and the opposums are babies and barely come around. We live in a brick fenced house. I personally live in Texas but it's amazing because on our homestead that is 45 mins away from our city home, there's everything from Hawks to owls and coyotes, including opposums, coons and others. I could never imagine leaving them there.

Update: right now it's about 12:30 and she usually starts screaming her head off for food at about 10 and then stop and start again at 11. So far, she's been quiet. I set them up in a little metal container thing that they can walk in and out and filled it with hay. The male stayed in there and the female fell asleep in the pool w( about 5 isf away) weird because she always sleeps with the male. Crossing my fingers.
