My Pet Chicken is taking 2012 orders!

Are you wanting to split the cost of shipping or how many chicks? My Pet Chicken will let you order as few as only 3 chicks. Meyer also only requires a minimum of 3 chicks. I have used both MPC and Meyer and have been happy with both.

I think you can only order that few chicks if you live around a major city

It depend where you live the min order for me was 5. Though meyers was 3 for me.

Not sure about Meyers, but MPC is a min order of (standard breeds) 3 if you live in a major city, 5 if you live no more than 30 min from a major city, or 8 or more if you live an hour or more from a major city. I really only wanted about 4, but I live an hour away from our major city, so I got 8. I got more than I needed last time, and sold 3, but it was hard for me to get rid of them (I had them till they were about 8 weeks old). It was like getting rid of pets for me. This time, I'll just keep them all. I've lost more hens to predators and illness this year than I anticipated, and despite my best efforts, I'm sure this year won't be death free either.

I sell the eggs, so I need to make sure I have a decent amount of laying hens at all times. I lost 4 good layers this past year alone, so that means I need to doubly my efforts and get 8, right? ...I believe I am starting to understand chicken math.
