Oh, I forgot to say- it is a great photo by the way! Good job. Yeah... As fascinating as they are... They can be troublesome.

The one we had I swear tried to become a friend of ours. He'd kind of follow you, sing in the tree and make a nest by the pond. (One of them wanted to trust us while the other didn't like me.... Nor sat well with me. )

They are very sly... But I know they aren't good on my property. Just keep an eye out... And a whistle.

They're pretty good at keep them away, but they do love duck eggs.

How so?

I raised and flew Birmingham Rollers. If I raised 90 young birds a year, by the time I had them flown out I'd be down to maybe 20 of the strongest fliers/poorest performers. It got to the point where I could not justify raising birds to be killed. Cooper's, Merlins, and an occasional Peregrine were relentless.
