My pet rooster randomly turned on me!!

I couldn't cook him if he was the last thing to eat on this earth lol mentally I could not hack it.

I told you I wasn't nice. Or patient. Or forgiving. I don't mind being pecked by a hen when I gather eggs, but getting flogged by a rooster is another matter. Please do not turn your back on him and take care to protect your eyes if he flies into your face. I have seen that happen and it isn't pretty. In other words, keep alert.

I'm with Cassie here! My first rooster was a rotten SOB, and never aqain! Having polite boys is great, but the other ones aren't worth it, and getting injured by a nasty bird isn't a good thing. He doesn't love you, he's sizing you up. Mary

Yeah I thought I broke him of that last summer but now I know I can't trust him at all. I just went to see him and he didn't act all crazy like yesterday. It just amazes me that they can changed like in a matter of seconds. I de spurred him a few months ago, but I find him very intimidating still.... My parents had chickens one year and two of their roosters would chase me but not spur me. After this one passes I'll probably never own a rooster again. It's a shame because they are absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Don't give up on roosters because of one bad boy! There are many nice ones, and reworking your cockerel management may help too. Mary

He was alot nicer today. I guess he just has his days. I carried around the water gun and he definitely knows it when he sees it. It's like I had a different rooster yesterday ha! I don't know, I'm sure I will get another rooster in the future, he just had me a little salty. I pray the potential future rooster won't have mood swings.

I don't have the patience to have to carry a water gun around every time I go out to do chores.
