My pips arent doing anything. do you think there alive?

They do take breaks, sometimes LONG breaks.

If your temp and humidity are right they they more then likly napping.

I have a flashlight that I shine through the window on top of my incubator just to see if I can see them moving in the tiny pip holes.

The worst part of this whole thing for me is watching them working on pipping because it takes SO LONG for some of them.

It can take them up to 24 hours before they zip out of the shells...they are resting and breathing on their own for the first time.....no two chicks zip at the same rate...
