My Polish WILL NOT STOP CHIRPING!

My new Polish chick is very distressed. I brought her home today with a silkie, seperating her from her sister (or brother they are unsexed)

Ever since we got home, the silkie has been fine, but the Polish WILL NOT stop chirping. She is very distressed. Whenever we lift the cover off the brooder, she jumps up and tries to escape.

We thought maybe she was lonely, so we put her in with our other chickens, who are 2 weeks older and much bigger. It did not help.

She still hasn't stopped! Help please!

My mom always gave me NyQuil when I wouldn't stop crying, but I'm pretty sure that's not an option. Best go back to the store and buy her some brothers/sisters.

It would help if you would tell us how old these two chicks are. Are they under a heat lamp? Are the Silkie and Polish together? How old are the older chicks, other than their being two weeks older?

The polish and silkie are 3 weeks. The older chicks are 4 weeks, except one which is 5 weeks. They are under a heat lamp, and I adjusted it to see if that would help, but it didn't. The silkie and polish are together and then 4 bigger ones are seperate.

Give her a day or two to settle in. I have a 4 week old Polish chick, and that little gal/guy is loud. All. The. Time. Not necessarily distressed, but he/she (we still don't know) is the "lookout chicken" for the rest of the brooder and every time I walk into the room it sounds the alarm. I've never had a Polish before, so I don't know if it's atypical of the type, but I can honestly say I've never had such a loud chick, and that includes the bossy little maran I raised last year.

I'm totally new to chicks, too. However I used the Mama heat pad/chicken cave method for heat. When they go in their little cave & the lights are low or off, they don't make any sound at all. When I looked in on them they looked like they were in bliss, so I'm not changing anything except their bedding every day & water of course, which they seem to dirty fairly often.
