I have two 9 week old roosters. Tonight while I was outside with them, I noticed that my EE was bleeding a little. He has a scratch on his comb area, and his beak looks cracked. Could this be from the two roosters not getting along? Any ideas on what else may have caused this? Is there anything I can do for him?

My hen did this same thing to herself while fighting with aanother hen.

I cleaned it up & let it be. It's hard to dr. a beak since they use it so much, and she simply wiped off any ointment I tried to put on.

She's fine now, it's growing back in slowly.

Just watch him to be sure he's able to eat OK, or you may have to trim his lower beak a little.

And maybe trim the edge off that part that's already broken on the side, so it can start to heal.

It looks pretty good though.

i WOULD SAY AT MOST IT IS TIME TO SEPERATE THE ROOSTERS
AS IT IS BREEDING TIME MANY OF THEM FEEL INTIMIDATED AND WILL THEN BE FOUGHT WITH
any way take them and seperate the two
any questions email me

I'd also eliminate the possibility of it being caused by a metal feeder; there have been a lot of lost toes and hurt beaks from them this year.

Incidentally, I'm a HUGE believer in Clotisol brand blood stopper. I got my first small bottle from a vet when my African Grey hurt her beak and tongue. It's water based, can be used on beaks, is non-toxic, and really will stop even large 'bleeders' immediately. If it gets thick in the bottle, add a little water. One small (4 ounce?) bottle lasts for ages and ages. And when you have a beak injury, or a head injury (which bleed profusely) it's nice to have something that stops it immediately.

It's SO effective that we used to use it on our mollucan cockatoo who we bought as a bahavioral self-mutilator and would bite his own chest. That was a lot of blood, and clotisol is what the veterinarians recommended that time as well. Of course I already had my own bottle.
