My poor Basil!

One of my girls is producing extraordinarily large eggs. While I'm sure it's normal, I can't help being


concerned for her nether bits...The rest of the flock is laying relatively uniformly sized eggs, and my largest hen lays tiny brown speckled gems. My husband is threatening a chicken intervention.... I'm alright, aren't I?!

What breed is she? Has she been laying for some time or just started? If you don't see any signs of blood - I would imagine she is built to handle eggs of that size.

Glad you could join the flock! Wow that is a large egg!! I too agree with drumstick as long as she is not unwell and the egg looks normal barring the size she may just be a large egg layer. What breed is she?

You have some lovely egg colors and that is one crazy large egg, lol. It wouldn't take many of those to make an omelet that's for sure. I'm curious like the others, what breed is she?
