Sorry for the lack of updates everyone! It was gun deer season here in wisconsin the last week so I was a bit preoccupied
Dixie is doing great!!! She had her drain out on wednesday (the 23rd). It's been healing up great. I haven't given her a pain pill since early last week since she was pulling me all around our property on her leash! She did have one the morning of her drain removal just in case though. Her stitches come out on thursday this week. After that no more cone and free roam again!!
I don't know who is more excited for that me or her! Once she's got the stitches out I will try to remember to post a picture. It really looks great, I don't think she will have much of a scar once the area fully heals. It's a bit lumpy from some of her fat being ripped out. I'll be looking into a good chest protector for next season just in case! I've thought about it before but never thought she'd really need it. I'm just so glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been! I love that dog so much

Glad to hear she is doing better. The only reason I run with a chest protector is a freind lost his hound to a stick and it killed the dog almost instently.

How sad!
I will for sure look into one for her, she's such a quick runner and doesn't look what's in front of her!
Glad she's doing better, and I'm going to look at Cabela's since I am considering a coonhound for predator control. Had a Treeing Walker years ago; still miss her, even though she stank like a hound dog.
