I have a Pekin duck who's almost feathered out (I'm trying to think when we got them...) he's been acting odd over the last few days and long story short when I got home from work tonight he couldn't stand. His left foot is swollen and hot to the touch. What kind of antibiotics are safe for ducks? I did an Epsom salt soak and iodine and bag balmed what my neighbor thought might be a cut. I have separated him from the flock and he's in a bed of clean shavings. He's my little man and we had some cuddles on the couch to help us both through it

I've done the chicken thing but never owned a duck and we have an assortment but this little one is my only Peking. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

A good vet is always a good thing, but we cannot all do that.

You are doing well so far, yes, if it is warm you need antibiotics. That is not my area of expertise, but Duramycin 10 has been suggested on some threads - you may want to look over some of them, or see if you can get some basic help from a vet on this.

Antibiotics are sold at feed stores but you probably know that. Please keep us posted.
