This is my pot belly pig thread, in this thread I will be telling you about how I will be doing my projects! I have multiple ideas for my pig! My pig is getting huge so I need to have him lose his extra pounds. That can take 9-12 months! So that's this years' project. Then next year I will be teaching tricks, and commands! What are your thoughts and/or projects with your pigs?? I would love to hear!

Sure! He's a little big right now but he's now on a diet!

OMG!! He is a bit porky. In addition to limiting his food is there any way you can increase his exercise?

Yup we are about to get 2 little dwarf goats!I'm sure they will annoy him to moving around! But I will also try to train him to do things so he could also loose weight and fat after that too

So I am getting three boys. And have some questions and since I love BYC. And now even more since there are pot belly pig threads. I wanted to know if my three boys coming today. I plan to build a pig house out of a IBC tote with a heavy duty mud flap door. And possible running a.

Second question has anyone ever feed there pig alfalfa or timmothy hay pellets. I don’t have acces to great hay right now. And will be feeding them dumor mini pig food but I know they need extra fiber. And have seen people say they havee this. But can’t find straight either of these that say they are for pigs. So just looking for help.

You have to remember that in the wild, pigs are scavengers. That means they can and do eat a great variety of things. Alfalfa pellets would be fine. Alfalfa cubes ought to be suitable also but they may pick those up and carry them around.

Thanks for the advice but he absolute hates them and eats around them

That happens. Pigs have their opinions. You might try offering some root vegetables. They are low in calories but high in fiber. He might like those.

I bought a book that teaches you how to train your pig and so much more, if you would like me to share some with you? I want Pigonia to lose weight because she is huge, so we are working on harness, diet, and sitting.
