My poultry had lice. How long should I wait before I sell my ducks?

I just realized that my chickens and four ducks had lice last week.

I dusted them with permethrin and cleaned the coop and then dusted that. I'm going to dust it again this weekend. How long should I wait before I rehome my pet ducks?

PS I'm selling them cuz I'm getting Call ducklings this spring.

I'm so excited! But my mallards would pick on them, so they need new homes. If anyone here is from MN and is interested, email me!

That's very honorable of you, most breeders wouldn't even bother to treat them if they were selling them.

Depends on how long the life cycle of a louse is. Treat to kill the adult bugs, then treat again to kill the hatchlings. I'm guessing, maybe 1-2 weeks.

My chickens had a bad infestation of lice. It took about 4-5 weeks to get rid of them completely. I repeated treatment every week.
