Do you know if the double lacing of the Wyandotte works against the mottling?
The typical laced Wyandottes have single lacing (one black* edge on each feather). Double lacing is two black edges on each feather.

*Black edges are the most common, but various genes can change them to blue, splash, white, or chocolate.

I have no idea whether the lacing affects the mottling.

3 weeks today for this wad the blue banders

15 weeks now the blue lace is molting in lighter so its gonna be harder to see the mottling. These two live in a growout pen of males now whichever males I keep im gonna keep them together so i dont need a million pens as all my other males need to be by themselves because they dont get along and its wasting space so. I think I hatched a blacke laced cockerel so might keep the black laced ones and not the blue ones as its near impossible now to see if they were mottled.

The 5 oldest if these seriously lose all the mottling I'm calling it quits lol View attachment 3116907View attachment 3116908View attachment 3116910View attachment 3116909View attachment 3116911
The last two are cockerels and will be culled due to the single comb. The third has nice mottling but has a single comb but gonna grow her out to see if the mottling sticks second pic already is losing the mottling but has a rose comb. As with the first pic thats a cockerel
:eek:Those are some handsome boys! What is your project?

I love watching your progress, too!

I came across a web site a while back looking at some blue laced silver Wyandottes. I have a few myself. If you scroll down you will see a Tolbunt Wyandotte. I thought if you haven't seen it you might be interested as there is a bit of info too. :)
