7 weeks for the youngest wad

So I processed last years hen one of her sec oldest daughters and an extra cockerel

I had more to process my my fryer isnt working propeprly
So heres whats left
Oldest 1-1-24 Hatch 21 weeks today

1-22-24 Hatch 11 weeks today

3-11-24 Hatch

3-29-24 Hatch

One of the only two im keeping in this hatch

The other one im keeping from this hatch

21 weeks and 5 days this oldest pullet started laying!

Finally got around to processing the rest I dont want got my fryer working again for now lol. Plucking isnt the greatest because I was kinda in a hurry before my fryer breaks again. Just wanted to get them done. Most of these were to brassy looking the one was darker but that single comb was the issue

Processed last years roo kinda got sick of him attacking my ee roo that i need for breeding still got two of his sons growing out one of which is in a terrible teenage molt lol

I posted on my other thread that my best mottled laced hen was killed 7-2-24 and I have been trapping coons ever since it seems!! 5 coons and one opossum so far! It started with these two in one night when my duck went missing.

set up this thinking it was a fox that took my hen as all that i found was feathers

Been a few days havent caught anything but I know theres another out there chewing my coop. There either is or was a coon walking around with a leg trap because the entire traps missing. Only time I trap is when these things start messing with my birds otherwise I dont bother. I'm sure the empty house next to me isnt helping this issue.
Since my hen died I did have 3 of her eggs off to the side as I always keep eggs incase but couldnt find them until a day or so later and popped them in my bator...one egg wasnt fertile but one did hatch!!

the father to this is my split chocolate easter egger as I want to add chocolate to my project and I think this is a chocolate but time will tell.

Ahh I’m sorry about your birds. Good thing you caught those coons. Did you skin them and keep the meet or just throw them out?

I let the maggots eat them and i think my chickens prolly snacked on em to lol but did keep the skulls off a few and the opossum. In the future i wanna crock pot anything i trap and feed it to my chickens but gonna go yard saling for a used crock pot imma need a big one lol

Thats awsome! I love keeping any skull I find or kill from a predator (or anything really). I killed a coon a couple months ago that I kept to pratice some taxidermy on and kept the meat to eat also did the same with a grounghog yesterday.

I would love to do taxydermy but i dont have the right things to do it lol so skulls it is..I also have a rat skull and a parakeet skull lol my dream skull will be a fox
