My goal is just for them to breed a true color, whether, eb or e+ or ewh

You could hatch a bunch of chicks from all the hens and see what you have, because e-locus tends to be more evident on the chick down.

Then you could look and see what color chick you have the most of, cull or sell the rest, and go from there.

These hens are pretty much duckwing. The last one looks like a messy silver duckwing. Additionally, if you breed your rooster (assuming he’s duckwing) to the red/buff hens, then breed the offspring back to a duckwing-looking chicken, they should produce more duckwings.

It’s a plan!

To breed in legorn, I will cross a leghorn with a duckwing, back cross that to duckwings, than cross thos to another strain of ducowing.

Make sure to get silver or brown leghorns, as those are both duckwing varieties.
