My Pullet laid every day for a week and suddenly stopped

My 20 week old pullet laid every day for a week.

Then she stopped suddenly and hasn't laid in 10 days, is this normal? She doesnt appear to be sick!
What should I be looking for? Will she become egg bound?

It's totally normal for egg laying irregularities in new layers. No worries, she'll get going again.

Mine stopped for a month...Drove me batty and I did all sorts of things thinking there was something wrong. Silly girl - (Me that is) She's laying again and the hen has made a fool of me. I knew it was normal for them to start and stop but never imagined for that long!

Hang in there. As long as she isn't acting sick, she's not losing weight and her comb and wattle are still red she should be fine.

Great question, I came on today wondering about my girl, she layed an egg a day for 5 days at the same time and hasn't for 2 days I was getting worried. now I know she'll be ok

Man I'm glad I decided to look into this today. My buff Ameraucana is 7 months this week, and although she laid me 5 wonderful eggs about a month ago, she hasn't laid again since then. We added another hen to our flock on the same day she laid me her last egg, and I knew her lay would probably be interrupted, but I didn't expect it to be for so long. I was starting to get really worried, but now I see I'm not the only one who's waited so long for sweet deliverance from eggless hens.

Case in point: about two hours after I posted this, she laid me a gorgeous teal egg. Fear not, pullet keepers!

Love that I can come up to this forum and find other folks with the exact question I wanted to ask. We have a Golden Comet that started laying sooner than we expected. Laid nice medium eggs for 7 days straight, then for the last 3-5 days hasn't laid anything. Just checked her and everything seems fine. So sounds like she'll get going again. We hadn't been giving extra calcium because we didn't expect any of them to start so early, but we are now. We have 3 others that are a bit younger that haven't started yet.

Well what would we do if this place wasn't here. My Road Island Red stop laying for 3 days now...lol I guess I am not alone. Yes I am new to this...but I have wonderful help with this site...Thanks Gina!!!!
