My Pullets don't nestle in shavings

Even though it's been quite cold in the evenings, my pullets roost.
WARNING: DUMB QUESTION COMING!!!
Will they know to nestle in the abundant shavings to stay warm when we get the single digits next week?

No, they will still roost!!

It really depends on your birds. Mine switch back and forth, more inclined to nestle if it is windy. One thing you can do is provide elevated platforms with bedding on them. That will encourage them to use a warmer roost.
