Hi Folks - I have 4 pullets, I have 1 pullet that is laying but I suspect she is older than my other 3 ................... the other 3 in question are showing no sign of laying though their combs / wattles are just about red and growing ............. I've had them around 10 weeks and they were bought as POL ............. I'm feeding Layer Pellets / Scratch / BOSS and then anything left over from the kitchen, plus they get to free range at weekends in the garden and for around an hour in the evenings before dark on some week days ............. Whilst my layer stopped laying for a couple of weeks and seemed to molt (around the neck) she still looks a right mess (rather not what she was) but is happilly laying everyday again even in the cold and short days.
Would the consensus be that my other 3 pullets are younger than I thought and I can expect eggs once the days grow longer probably around late Jan / Feb ????
