Well I was out in the field with my dad water proofing our new duck hut when he turns around and says "dog in the pool". I didnt hear the splash since I had my ipod plugged in

Anyway, we had seen her looking into the pool at the bugs but she doesnt like water, so we didnt keep that close of an eye on her.

So we take off ( me loosing my glasses in the process) and my dad reaches out gate first, since i cant see where i am going, and bends down and picks our 5 month old pup up and out. She sure did give us a scare! She is now bathed and sitting by the heater like nothing happened. Ugh, what Am i going to do with that pup?! lol

here is the little trouble maker

I'm sorry, but you were actually worried about her? You would have hated to be here last summer! My sister and her family came to visit, and brought their 4 month old APBT pup with them. My 4 month old GSD was always going into the pond to swim, and since my sister's pup acted scared to death, she decided to pick him up and throw him in! We would never be afraid for them in the water! Did the pool not have a way for her to get out?

Since the OP said she had her ipod on and didn't hear the dog go in, it's a VERY good thing the dad saw her and they got her out. I lost a beloved Siamese this past summer to that very accident. I lost a piece of my heart that day...

Well as you can see she is quite small, never been in water above her ankles, as she is still a pup and we didnt want to encourage her going in since we leave the dogs outside sometimes when we are gone.

She fell in between the skimmer and diving board, its an 8ft deep pool, with no floaties and the only stairs were on the other side of the pool. We have lost a schnauzer to drowning before, since their fur is easily water logged and they are not bred to be swimming dogs. She was a store bought pet ( unfortunately coming from a puppy mill before that) So she has only known grass existed for about 2 months.

So, Yes, I was worried about her. Im sorry that my 6 pound dog is not as readily able to to take on a slimy deep green pool as your's and your friend's dogs are able to take on a pond that slopes down so that they can easily walk out. Not trying to sound rude or anything, but , yes, I Was Worried.
