My Quackers Crew!!!

I'm amused to stumble on this thread since we hatched 3 "Australian Spotted" eggs a month ago, only to discover that there was a bit of hanky panky going on, and daddy wasn't who the seller thought he was. You've got ducks that look like each of ours, and their names are pretty similar, too! Ours are "X" (blue with white wingtips and growing at the same rate as the Welsh Harlequin hatchmates), "13" (pure black, but starting to get a bit of brown lacing as his feathers come in), and "Hey, What about Me" (typical Aussie chipmunk look.)

The one thing I can say is that the one who looks to be a full-blooded Australian Spotted has been on his own growth path from the beginning. Or, at least, since the one-week mark when we decided to start tracking. They looked about the same size on hatch day.

I'm curious to see what yours turn out to be!

The darkest of the eye strip ducklings (what my husband calls them

) is definitely smaller than most of the rest. The other two seem quite big, the lightest one being the biggest. Still thinking the biggest ones may be trout runners.

x2 they are so cute looking!!
Thank you!!!

#8 looks pretty similar to the magpie I raised last year. They're all adorable btw.

I thought number 8 could be a magpie but was wondering if she was to black? I have seen pictures of a few magpies that looked like her though so hopefully your right.

Numbers 1, 7, 8, and the darkest of the eye stripes are the smallest so far. Number 1 being the smallest. By what I've been told this could all change in a day so we'll keep watching and taking pictures.

They are the sweetest cutest things ever. I don't know how I went this long without them!!!

If you look at the my Duck Journal thread you can see my magpie as a baby and how she grew up. She had a lot of black on her as well.
