My quail pens

Very utilitarian. Do they have dust baths available?

@Chickem707, is there hardware cloth over that chicken wire? If not, something is going to eat them. Chicken wire is only sufficient to contain chickens, not keep out predators. And that gap under the door is going to let all kinds of trouble in.
The only predators we get here are cats, and the cant get through the wire. There is a wooden step now, unfortunately that’s an old picture

California perch and fly too, omg almost lost a girl yesterday - can’t believe we got her back, took us 30 minutes a couple of fences climbed, creek jumped, angry pit bulls avoided, cuts from nettles and briar patches... but I got her with a net lol and she’s fine.

Gotta be so careful with those guys but I love them. They can be so quick!

But yeah the Valleys will perch as well.

My coturnix do not but I still add some small branches with dried leaves on them they lay between them and mess about with them, hide in them, whatever it is they like to do...lol they like making nests between the food trough and the pen wall *shrug* it’s cute...

You shouldn't withhold enrichment from your birds because they aren't laying. A dust bath is literally a pan with some dirt in it, it costs basically nothing. It provides enrichment, which reduces stress, and helps to keep them healthy and parasite-free.
I understand where you are coming from but I don't have quail at the moment I need eggs to hatch so I can have quail to give a dist pan to :)
I'm just now getting set back up

Ah, I see. I thought you meant you already had quail and weren't going to give them dust baths until they laid, not that you're waiting for hatching eggs to get here.
