My quail still aren't laying eggs

Love the idea of portable pens ^^ grats you guys on your first eggs

I am toying with an idea that fixes the possible digging from predator problem while still allowing the quail group to forage somewhat/be in nature/be protected from any elements.

It would be a raised garden bed with a box (the cage) on top of it. When it needs to be cleaned, I can move the box to another raised garden bed and turn the poopy soil/replace it if needed/add seeds to sprout by the time I switch them back over to that bed again

That's a really good idea!

I don't worry too much about predators, I have my birds on grass. I have a livestock guardian dog right nearby all day and night so we have very few if any predator problems.

I would put lights on them but my coop has no electrical wiring anywhere near it. I supplement with some LED fairy lights but I don't think they're close to bright enough. Does anyone have any lighting ideas?

I use an extension cord and clamp light.
