My quail tried to kill each other and I'm unsure what to do

I let my new quail out and my 2 boys bit their knecks immediately and assaulted them. I separated the boys into a new box asap but idk what to do

Almost every time, you won't be able to keep more than one male with a group of females. You need to have a seperate place for each male and a group of five or more girls or he can overmate them and there could be damage. He could also pick a favorite and overmate her no matter how many hens (I'm dealing with that now lol).

You need to either do this or find a way to rehome/repurpose your males humanely. They're most likely not going to get along and it's going to be brutal and will stress out the hens as well.

Bobwhite quail live here and I know they are used to outdoors, also the other alternative was letting my uncle cook em and I didn't want to see them die
