My quails eye again (with pictures)

so i'm thinking that i should probably drain the swollen part, I've checked to make sure it's actually liquid inside (by feeling it.) I'm not entirely sure, but it certainly feels like it.
If i drain it could i be able to do it by myself (without a vet)?
If i did, what would i need? has anyone ever done this before? If someone has done this before can you give me step by step instructions?

Should i actually do this? @Nabiki , @Kiki , @Fenrisulfr , @Green Bean Quail ? Should i do this?

@danalovesdogs , sorry for not replying earlier  I do have a vet near me.

I'd try antibiotics first.

It's your choice. If I didn't have access to a vet, I might try, but be prepared to cull if things go wrong. Make sure to sterilize the cloth and needle you use by boiling or alcohol first.

So, as always, my disclaimer. I'm not a vet. I'm not an expert.

I've never drained an abscess on a bird. But have on my horse and countless people... your instincts are probably right. I cant be sure how to guide you. But if you try, I'd personally do something as least invasive as possible to start like just pricking the direct center of the fluid filled area with a sterile needle and gently squeeze it if she will let you. Then use the warm compresses to help it drain. But beyond that, I'd be very hesitant to do much more without a vet. Poor baby. I hope she gets on the mend soon.

@muddy75 ? should i drain it? or should i wait until i know more?
You can try but I have no experience with it....like @Kiki mentioned, do you have access to antibiotics???? @casportpony may have experience with something like this but personally I’m the type to cull vs trying to treat or take to vet when it comes to my birds 😭

I wouldn't dare it by myself.
The quail would not keep moveless and so near at the eye I would do more harm than good ... regarding my anti-motoric skills.

Also here in Germany we don't get antibiotics without a prescription of a doc, for after treatment.

This is me. I cannot tell your skills and the dicipline of your quail.
