My Rangers are 4 weeks today

They're all doing well, even after 5 recent days of heat advisories (one of them heat index of 104 and 65% humidity-ugh) and then 3 days of cold with 2 days of wind gusting 25-30 miles an hour. I really wish the weather would moderate!

I weighed 4 of them this morning, tried to get a variety of sizes. 1lb 10oz, 2lb 2oz, 1lb 13oz, and 2lb 6oz.

I'm also raising a doz. dual purpose roos that are 5 days older than the Rangers. I weighed half of them. 2 were 14 oz and 4 were 1lb.

Its amazing the difference in weight between the Rangers and Roos, especially over such a short time span.

Seams like your dual purpose birds are growing much more consistantly than the Rangers even thaugh less than half size and older. What breed are they?

I got them from J.M Hatchery


I think part of the size differences are between the colors. If I look at just one color, they seem consistent in their group.

Half of the duals are White Rocks, the rest are Buff and Barred Rocks and Speckled Sussex.
