In the Brooder
so these are my 1 month old, 11 silver pencilled rocks, 5 Golden pencilled hamburgs, and one free salmon favorelles chicks from McMurray hatchery fully vaccinated an everything, I had 19 but a rock and a hamburg died shortly after receiving them all are healthy except yet another rock and hamburg, the hamburg appears to somehow broken its leg or slipped tendon its completely sideways and it can turn its foot completely backwards, its constantly thrashing around the cage still fights, eats and drinks after being like this for two weeks, not sure weather to cull it or let it grow up like that, doesn't appear to be in too much pain, an then the rock was perfectly fine the day before an the next day it walking on its hocks and falling over straight backwards and couldn't walk, I fed it hard boiled eggs for on day and it had went from looking on its death bed too jumping and flying from the separate cage too the brooder walking perfectly normal. Nutrient deficiency or what?? Everyone else perfectly good but now the huge bad ordeal. This morning we had woke up to the smell of smoke from the brooder area. The lamp had somehow fallen into the woodchips and about 1/4 of the wood chips were burnt/smoldering quite a bit of bad smelling smoke in the air and the whole brooder torn apart and chickens all over the basement most still in the brooder. Every single one of the chicks was completely unharmed nobody weasing for air or not active an walking. But now I'm worried they may die from inhaling the smoke and get a respiratory infection it may just be a waiting game the next few weeks to see but anything can do??other than that I just wanted to show you guys my chickens and any answer will be much appreciated
