My REALLY Strange egg Opened!

As per the request of others here to see what's inside, I cut open the strange egg that I found in one of the nests this past Friday....

The first photo shows the outer "shell" or membrane cut with what appeared to be whites around the "inner egg"...

The second photo shows the inner egg cracked complete with a yoke....

I've seen an egg within an egg before. This appears to be an egg within a yolkless soft shell egg. That's a first for me!

I am getting eggs that look just like that from one of my EE . She hardly lays and when she does they have no shell or an egg with a thin shell, inside a membrane that contains only egg white. She is 50-50 on laying in the nest box. Wondered if you ever discovered a cause or what ended up happening
