My reason for wanting chickens! Help with some breeds?

All mine get along my favortites are silkies, cochins and brahmas. Ii also love d'uccles. I have always kept my bantams with the big girls without problems. I tried polish and hamburgs and they were my least favorite. They are flighty and the polish got eaten by hawks because they cannot see. I will caution you about buying from breeders and shows. Always quarentine! I did not...once. i almost lost my entire flock. The breeder was well known and the chicks looked great for a week and then they got sick and so did everyone else:(

I also keep my bantys and LF together with very little issues. (Currently have a GL Wyandotte that thinks chasing my fav cochin banty is her main purpose in life).

PiperOmar is a user on here that often has fertile eggs for sale. If you type that name into search, the on left click on users..then click on their username you can see all their current postings with some pictures.

My bantams and LF will be kept together for a while, I'm expanding my run so I can get full use out of my coop if I want to so I can keep 30+ chickens ( as an option)! I would like to keep my silkies separate as I do think I may possibly breed and show them. It's just a thought now, I'm attending my first show in may. I'm still on the fence with both breeds and how I would do separate pens and things if I decided to. But like I said all of it is just in the 'thinking stages'. I still want a few different breeds for my layers and for a pretty egg basket :)

Thanks for letting me know I was on google trying to look 'piper Omar' up lol!
