I added an extra fan to help circulate the air and i have got 13 live chicks in the last week. And three more pipped today. However, I noticed the incubator has some spots that are a degree warmer or cooler than 99.5 so i set my thermostat a little high so the warm spots were about 101 and the cool spots 99. I have three thermometers in there checking the temp so i am pretty sure it is accurate.

My chicks have been hatching but if the chick hasn't pipped by the end of day 21 i have yet to have one hatch. I have had several hatch fully on day 20. I have egtopsied the eggs and found a few that were oriented incorrectly in the eggs but some are 100% formed with the yolk sac 100% absorbed and still dead. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong that i can correct the humidity is a little lower than i would like at about 50 % but it is steady.

Any suggestions, i would love to increase my hatch rate?

I am a newbie to this myself, but from all the reading I have been doing, I would wonder about it being too warm and the chicks hatching early at day 20. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. The incubator looks pretty cool though, just maybe the temperature tweak is needed.
