My Rescued battery hens - day one.

They are much perkier today; desperate to get outside and one of them will even let me stroke her (Patsy; she is my fav already) . Can't believe how quickly they are settling in!

So when you rescue a battery hen does that mean that the place they came from is no longer in business or do they just replace them and keep running their cruel business?

Good luck with your new girls, they are going to think they died and went to heaven after what they have been threw.

The battery farm sells them; either to the rescue charity or to the slaughter house, when their egg laying is not optimum. Then they replace them with younger chickens which get sold when their laying slows down...... etc etc
