My RIR's 1st day outside...........

To get the chicks out of the house today....my daughter and I made a makeshift run. We took the birds out for the first time (in the grass) and they had a ball. They scratched and chased bugs for about 3 hours. In the meantime I cleaned the brooders. WHEW!!! The older they get the stinkier they get. We have 13 RIR's all together, and here is some pics of a few of them.

Aww, they look so happy! Kingie Boy is cute too...what breed/mix is he, his face looks a little like my beagle mix.

He's a coppernose beagle. I was told he is a cross between a beagle and a basset hound. He is cute ain't he.

Adorable.
Here's my little Junebug, she often curls up her lips like Kingie Boy's when she's trying not to bark out loud

The brown line across her nose is dirt, she was digging for who knows what in the woods.

She's really cute!!!! And she was probably chasing after a mole or a frog. Kingie Boy does that all the time. It is so hilarious to watch.

Yes she does, chipmunks are her favorites. She is, however, excellent with the chickens...apparently she has some shepard in her 'cause she herds them around and sits watch like a pro. I think she actually likes having a job, seems to suit her well.
