My RIRs are nearly 30 weeks

Still no eggs - they are beautiful big healthy birds who live a charmed life! Any ideas please?

Some just tend to be late bloomers. Are you feeding them layer feed or anything ?

My RIR did not lay until 9 months. She has not been the "production red" that I thought RIR were suppose to be.
MY EE and barred rock have been the best layers.

Gosh I hope late developers are not also poor layers! My best producers are my hybrid brown shavers - about 360 eggs a year in the first year - declining in the second and almost all spent after two years. The purebreds seem to be not as quite as prolific but do lay for longer. Here's hoping!

Yes layer mash for the last two months - I'm ever hopeful!

The last time I raised chicks, it was 33 & 35 weeks before they layed.
