He found a big worm and was about to gobble it up, but my cochin ran up to him, and he spit it out and nudged it over to her! Is that common?
 
Fairly common. I have had two roosters who would pick up and drop blueberries while calling the girls. They would stand around and not eat until most of the girls had had a turn.
 
Most roosters tidbit. Some do this as a way of caring for their flock while others use it as a way to lure a female close enough to mate. Not so different from humans after all!
 
I admit that I didn't really like him until I saw whathe did. I don't think he qualifies for a scholarship to freezer camp after all .
