If he harasses the female too much, so they can't eat or drink or rest,
might think about getting rid of him,
or at least segregating him for most the day.

Okay I'll keep that in mind. I'll watch him and make sure he's not being too crazy. So far he's not that bad but I'll make sure he doesn't get any worse.Prime time.

An amorous 4-5 pound rooster is not going to hurt a full- or nearly-grown Pekin, regardless of gender. Rest easy & take it all in with a chuckle! He's almost full grown I think. I'll see if I can get some pics. I know he's way lighter than they are. He looks big but is maybe 4-5 lbs.
Have you ever read the children's book, Funny Farm? It's a short picture book (Troll or Scholastic, I think) about a farmer who has confused animals ... think "Cow crowing from the barn cupola.) He corrects the mix-up by putting each animal back where it belongs and ends up with miserable, unproductive livestock. He eventually allows each to "do their own thing" and everyone is happy again. It's too cute ... and sounds just like your place! You'd enjoy it!What's even more weird is the duck actually squatted and let him.. haha idk. My animals are all weird. I have a cat that likes to roll around in the mud when it's raining and a dog who sleeps with his face in shoes. Now a roo who mates ducks.
I'll have to find it and check it out. That would be a cute read! Thanks for telling me. All my life I've had weird animals. When I was a kid I had a goat and a dog who would headbutt each other then lay down and take naps togetherHave you ever read the children's book, Funny Farm?
