My rooster ate a few raw beans half hour ago! Will it kill him?? I'm panicking!

In Mexico, where my husband is from and where I have spent several months, chickens aren't fed "chicken food," they are fed kitchen scraps, including beans. A lot of beans. The chickens do just fine. I imagine a bunch of uncooked beans would be hard on a chicken's digestion, but there are uncooked beans spilled all over chicken yards down there, an d no dead chickens. Just personal anecdote, but I don't think you should worry!

I completely believe this as no one has weighed in about their chicken dying of dried bean poisoning.
TY!

So, I just googled this, and I'm DYING. The source that says beans kill chickens also says they must be soaked in cold water for a minimum of 5 hours before they are safe for humans to eat. :lau And that the water must be discarded. And that cooking in a crockpot is unsafe. I literally don't know a single person who cooks beans this way, and we make them every day at our house in a crockpot and have for over 10 years. https://www.raising-happy-chickens.com/what-chickens-should-not-eat.html

Post a link to it please.

Chickens are voracious and indiscriminate eaters. I try to keep an eye on mine, but honestly...they've eaten everything from coal to styrofoam without apparent ill effect.

The styrofoam particularly worries me. That cannot be good for their crops!

Welcome to the forum. Would love to see pics of your little roo.

For some strange reason I am constantly having to remind my youngest that just because it's on YouTube doesn't mean it is real.
He doesn't quite understand.:barnie
It's a serious problem. People seem to be losing their ability to apply reasoning and logic to the information they receive.
Above for example is a warning about chickens eating walnuts. The chickens here have been eating walnuts for 30 years! They grow here.

Hey...you could have said that a bit nicer. The oxalate thing is real. If you haven’t had problems that’s great. But maybe someone on this board has. It doesn’t mean the information is wrong. And it doesn’t mean when asked for my references, because they come from the web they should be taken with a grain of salt. I feel like I should stop offering anything I’ve learned because lots of people make a point of trying to refute it.
