Hello Everyone!
I have recently came back home from college and one of my roosters is sickly and seems to have no motivation to do anything. My family told me that he had escaped one night and was gone for a couple of days till a neighbor found him in their yard fighting one of their roosters. They are unsure if his scratches were based on his fight or maybe he was attacked by something else. His injuries are healed and don't seem infected. After being back home he was just stood there and has not even sang or anything. He is eating and drinking water and his poops have been good but other than he is not the same. I have attached a picture so you guys can see.
He is a mini rooster (unsure of his exact breed)
Its been a month according to my family.
He has some scratches on his comb.
I have not given him any treatment.
He is our oldest rooster and lives in a small coop in our front yard. They have free range.

I let nature take its course. It could be that he was traumatized by being “put back in his place” by the other roosters and has now has mellowed out.

Sorry to hear about your roo. He is a handsome fellow. About how old is he?

He looks a little pale, you say he was around other chickens while he was gone, have you checked him over really well for lice and mites? They can take a lot out of a chicken.

How hot is it where you are? Maybe the heat is getting to him. Try giving him some electrolytes with a bit of honey or sugar in his water to perk him up, something like a little Gatorade will work, too.

How are his droppings? And has he been dewormed?
