My Rooster is sleeping and falling over

My 5 year old, large Buff Orpington Rooster began sleeping during the day 6 days ago. By the next day he was falling over and sleeping all day.

I checked him for lice/mites. He showed signs, so I powdered him. I also gave him vitamins. He is eating and drinking and far more alert, but he falls over when he walks. His comb is a good color.

Any ideas what I should try next? No other chickens seem to have symptoms.

If it just occurred to your roo, my guess it is mareks disease. Symptoms are different in every chicken! aND it’s highly contagious. But some birds aren’t even phased by the disease and show no symptoms. Unfortunately, mareks doesn’t have a cure. But don’t freak out! I could be wrong, I’m not here to petrify you, just here to help.

What does his poop look like?

Getting rid of the lice/mites was a good, did you use a permethrin based powder?
What type of vitamins did you give him?

It's hard to know what's going on with him, it could be related to his age, he's 5 so getting on up there a little bit. If possible take a poop sample to your vet to rule out worms.
Do what you can to keep him drinking and eating, re-check his crop in the morning to make sure it's empty before he eats/drinks and look at his legs/feet (including joints and bottom of feet) for any swelling, injury or bumblefoot.

I hope he is already feeling better by now.

Thank you so much for your help! I'm working on a video of him. He has stopped sleeping and stands most of the time now.

The poop I saw was small, tight and greenish.
I did use Permethin on him.
The vitamins were a water soluble Vitamin & Electrolytes from the feed store.
I did not see signs of bumblefoot but one leg was maybe slightly swollen.

I'm headed out to check on him again today.

So not a great video but here is a try...

It's very hot in the south today. The poop pic will need to come in the evening.

Isn't he such a nice big boy! I used to have a BO rooster, he was sweet.
Are all the mites gone?
Is his crop emptying overnight?
Have you ever de-wormed him?

I take him aside every day and get some poultry vitamins into. I like Poultry Cell, so I will suggest that - dose him directly at 1cc per 3 pounds of weight. I would also see if he will eat for you at this time too. A treat of scrambled egg maybe. A rooster will often not eat/drink well, instead he dotes on the hens. This is not his main problem I'm afraid, but giving him a boost may help with recovery.

Look in his ears to make sure they are clean and don't have infection or mites.
I know I might be repeating myself, but I would re-check his legs/joint and the bottom of his feet for any swelling, injury, sore spots too.
