one of my two columbian rock cross chickens started crowing over the week end.[IMG] he is 11 week old. im glad i have nice neighbors. all of them have said it dont bother them. most said they even like it. im out of city limits and their arent any laws on having them here. they said the reason for it is that every one here had them years ago. i have one rooster and five hens.

They are red sex link. I have 4 of them. I think gold sex link is just another name for red sex link. They are more of a gold color. But they were sold as red sex link. This breed goes by many names.

Our boy let out his first this week, although he needs some practice. It is more of a Cock-a-do-arrrggg. Like he doesn't have enough air to get the last part out. I think I may be one of the lucky ones though as we don't hear him until 6:30am, I pray he continues to sleep in[IMG].
George is a good boy- I hope he stays that way.

mine crowed last week for the first time.at eleven weeks.it does'nt sound like a crow that i have ever heard.funny.he now will crow when he sees me.yesterday evening i had him and his flock mates in a chicken tractor.when he seen me he started crowing.

  9. TravisE, he sure is a pretty rooster!

Greenckick, isn't that so cute when they first start to crow? In a few more days, he'll have it all figured out and won't shut up because he'll be so proud of himself and has to let the whole world know about it! [IMG]

Bucky, sometimes they act just like kids, don't they?
