my rooster

I have used a saddle on one of my hens that my rooster favored. after all summer long she somehow got it off. and she was still bald. Since I couldn't catch her with the rooster around, I left it off of her. I took the spikes off the rooster. The feathers eventually came back in.Yet, I don't know why she was still bald with a saddle on. With the spikes removed, it didn't stop him from doing his thing.
