My Roosters Spurs were Removed

Thank you all for your responses. I will post pictures later. I'm at work and can't right now. He has no other injuries, but blood on his feathers where he was sitting in it on the roost. My first thought was they got caught on something and pulled off, like the netting around the coop, but there was no evidence anything occurred there or anywhere else. I found one of the spurs just lying in the bedding and straw next to his food. Unbroken and no blood, the other I haven't been able to find. Nothing looks like there was any fight or struggle. I also have a cat, but they get along normally and the cat had no injuries either. If they did get into a fight I think Ezekiel would win (lol). He's a typical leghorn.

Someone removed them...They don't just fall off at the same time. Same as our fingernails. I have seen people make jewelry out of Rooster Spurs ..Pretty fancy eh?..lol.
Hope you figure it out?..In the meantime put some antiseptic spray on the injuries.

But she found one. Hard to imagine someone would go to that risk and trouble and then leave one behind.
Possibly dropped it and could not quickly find it again...I'm sure if someone did it?..It was quick and did not dilly dally around?

Why would someone remove his spurs @Dourily if that was the case? Has this happened before? Not exactly spurs but has someone tried to break in your coop or do you have some nasty neighbours? I'm stumped.
Exactly, why do people do the things they do? Some we will never know what triggered their behavior. People are mental! :barnie

It makes me sick seeing all the stupid things people do these days. They have NO respect for anyone except themselves. Poor rooster.
Well, that is just one possibility...

Yes it is quite sickening the things we see these days. I'm sure it used to happen just as much. But there wasn't world wide broadcasts and social media like there is today. And they ONLY report headlines that will grab your attention and make you have a reaction. Even if it isn't really true!

Since keeping chickens, I have come in contact with a lot more decent people that do care and want to help. :highfive:
