That's a great idea!

I have been grading senior capstone projects at our school this week. I have four seniors that I am advising this year. Each of them chose a project related to a career path they want for themselves (although there are many different things our students can do for their projects).

It's so fun to see the seniors create a project that is meaningful to them and then do some real, college-quality research before they go off to a real college or university. I think it helps them to build confidence.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I did my senior project about sex in the media and the difference between erotica and pornography. I got a b on it. I think I only choose that so I could be "dangerous" without to much effort....lol.

I say go for it you never know you might actually have something to continue to do afterwards. GL

Oh the small business association has mock business plans that are pretty good. you could probably use that for part of your project.

So i turned in my senior project idea to my advisor today and she approved it. She also told me to go to the carrier center to see about being able to start early because i will have to get some animals and stuff. And i got that approved too. So i am going to start to get things ready and such. Haha now the real work begins.

That sounds great! But, I have a question - do you have a mentor to help you? How about a budget? Make sure that you document everything you do in a journal notebook so you will have proof that you done the work. Have your mentor sign it.

Yes i have a mentor. My 4-h leader said she would do it. And as for a budget i will have one but i do not know what it will be as of yet.
