My shed turned coop :)

Ok these pics were taken at the end of may or beginning of June before the outside was painted and before I added the sliding coop door. Until i added the door i literally screwed on 2 pieces of wood every night to keep them safe.
The shelving on the left, is perfect for their nest boxes that I'll be making within the next week. Hopefully soon they will be laying eggs for us :)

And the original window needs replacing before winter, but with how much i work i havent had much time . The windows by their perches i made. They arent anything special but they look cute from the outside hahaha

Very nice. As long as the roosts are higher than the nest boxes you won’t have any problem. That top shelf may need a slanted piece of wood on it, or else...a chicken’s gonna do what a chicken does best - roost where they’re not supposed to. Been there, done that and still doing it. For the life of me I don’t know why I don’t fix it. :idunno

Great advice altho i plan on making the top into a storage cabinet. For odds and ends kinda stuff :)

Here is a pic of what the front of the shed looked like for years. Then when I moved in (this was my sisters house previously) we got chickens and wa-la! Lol

And here are some pics of their run, its attached to their coop. Chicken wire attached to the sides and buried. Tho this pic was taken when only one side done. The top has chicken wire over it also. I added a tarp over most of it to help keep most of the rain out. But of course it started holding the water so I added a cemented 4x4 in the middle.
It was grassy/weedy but that didn't last long lol so now i filled it with sand and in their favorite corners i added some food grade D.E.

And a pic of our house to show how close we got the color to match :) i do have lots more work i plan on doing before Im happy with it but that will happen little by little, i work a LOTTTTT in the warm months (i work seasonally) and I do plan on adding another 10x10 dog kennel next year to give them more room. I can't free range because i know they would go to my neighbors yard and we have lots of coyotes, fishers, fox, hawks, bear..

Tho the roosters you see in these pics are now gone :(
