So, I have 2 1/2 week old chicks (my first)...my favorite died two days ago and now I have 6 more sitting in the shopping cart - I haven't submitted it, but I WANT THEM! Have I mentioned my coop isn't even finished yet and the chicks I do have are still in my bath tub? No no, I can't do this! Maybe next week.......

Oh boy.....the chicken bug has bitten you......aww, go ahead and get a few more.......your first chicks will need more friends.....

Better to do it now. It is easier to integrate the chickens if they are closer in age.

But we don't need to encourage you.... you know you’re going to place the order no matter what we say!

Oh, heck, go ahead and buy them! I bought 12 chicks from MPC in May and we're JUST NOW getting the new coop finished! They were in a brooder in the garage until they outgrew it, then moved to an empty 12x12 stall in the barn (thank goodness we had that). But when the 2nd batch of eggs was getting close to hatch day (Warning: Chickens are a VERY addictive habit) and the 1st hatch needed to move out of the brooder (to make room for #2) and into the barn, my DH realized that we HAD to get the coop ready for the original 12 (which were now over 2 months old). LOL!! Well, the original 12 are now in the coop, which is finished except for a partial roof over the run and the nesting boxes (won't need those for another month or so). To make a long story short -- just do it!!!

Mine are 3 weeks old and living in my guest bathtub, so I had to laugh out loud at this! I'm all antsy to buy more too! Fortunately or unfortunately, most of the types I want are sold out until 2011. But I want all of them right now! You know, the longer you wait to buy, the order takes to get to you

I have always bought from feed stores (except for two bantam cochins from a local person) and yet *I* constantly have something in my shopping cart at MPC. Never ordered live chicks online. Never. But...... one of these days I'm gonna click "BUY."

Your chicks need more buddies. Do it. Do it. Doooooo it.
