Henry, are you sure they have enough space? My hens sometimes squabble, especially when I integrate the breeding pens, but I haven't had them outright kill each other. Make sure you have adequate space- at least 10 sq ft per bird total (if I remember right you can't free range).

I'm sorry this happened to you Henry. Is the Marans going to make it?

Purple chicken hatched them and MarlinChaser delivered them

its a long BYC chain I am pretty sure that the eggs came from someone on here not sure who though.

Ohhh ok. I have a source here for some later in the spring. I plan on raising some so I can start producing sex-linked chicks next spring. How do you like your Dels?

I think I defently over reacted on this one everyone is fine today. The drop in tempertures seem to be what effected these birds not anything else it is really cold here. I think it was just two weak birds that got a cold. Everyone is great today and laying eggs
