My silver spangled hamburg flying in front of my kitchen window!!

my SSH flies all over the place. she lets herself in and out of the run.

when she is out, i hold open the door and say, "you want in, pretty girl?" and she strolls right in. i also ring the doorbell on the coop whenever i enter and when it goes off, she will come running to get back in.

Great replies!! I haven't had a lot of experience with chickens until now. About 6 years ago, hubby and I had a few, but we had to get rid of them. I didn't really have the time to get to know them. With my chickens now, I know most of their personalities and stuff, but I really didn't know that they are that smart. Rose's coop and run is pretty far away from the window she was flying at. She's never up near the house. Thats why it surprised me sooo much.

I have a bantam, and went camping. Little did I know that the children of the people that I left Bantam (yes that is her name) with were bringing her in every morning to have pancakes with them. I come back, not knowing anything of it,and bring my chickens home. I am happily eating my breakfast when i hear a flapping noise and Bantam flys up to my house looking for pancakes i look up and lo and behold her clucking figure slams into the window in an attempt to get in. I put her back, come up, and again she comes. I couldn't go to church because i didn't want her to get out and not have water, so there i was for like two hours catching Bantam and throwing her back. i am going camping in may and will have to ask them to let Bantam have her pancakes at the chicken coop. :)
