They admitted her to the hospital earlier today and I can't stay with her overnight right now due to my own health issues.

I've always stayed, always. So I've been holding down the fort and trying to mindlessly work and pass time online. Early tuesday morning after I checked her I got a coat on her over her house clothes and took her straight to the ER. Initial ER blood tests done on site came back mostly normal, but some of the same ones they sent out for lab came back bad today (call came in while she was at GP early this morning, taken there because her symptoms were back in spades when she awoke this morning). After the call came in from the ER tests, while she was at the GP's office, she was sent straight to the hospital to be admitted. Tests they did upon arrival to the hospital showed her levels were much worse from even the day before. I'm just very concerned and there's no answers yet as to what is causing it and how to help it. Thanks for a place to talk about it.

Thank you.

I wanted her to be admitted that first ER day so they could do a scan and quicker tests, but the ER doc just gave some meds & said it was a virus. My questions to the doc about liver and kidney functions and thoughts of sepsis fell on deaf ears.

It's almost 2am and I just called to check on her via her nurse and the nurse said the docs say it looks like she has hepatitis since her counts are so extremely high, but the nurse said they're not for sure yet. Another liver specialists will see my sis in the a.m. and do more tests. All tests so far have come back bad including the scan. They said she'll be there in the hospital for some time and told me to come be with her any time day or night, that they have no set visitor hours for family of those in her condition.

They said she ate a little bit a couple of hours ago and is sleeping.

Prayers for your sister.Speedy healings for you both! Sorry to read about the hepatitis. Maybe a mix of conventional and alternative therapies can help her liver.
