Thanks for sharing!!
Your welcome! I am so glad you liked it!
Every night I bring treats or bread when I go up, so they will follow me up to get their treat. If I don't, walk right out of the coop deciding it's not bed time. I must have spoiled chickens.

Mine are spoiled too!!! They see me walk out and they get so excited!!!!!
This could be used as therapy for someone who needs a smile - heartwarming.
I totally agree!!! Laughter is the best medicine!!!
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing! Love watching children enjoying animals like this. That is a beautiful rooster... What breed is he? (Sorry I'm a new chicky mama... Still learning...)
Thank you! My son loves the chickens! I incubated some and ended up with 21 out of 25 I started with, and he keeps coming up to me and giving me a hug telling me thank you for putting those eggs in the incubator! Makes my heart melt. I don't know what kind he is other than mutt! I have tried to find a breed to fit him in but I cannot. My husband picked him out because of his colors! Oh don't worry, I am new too, and still learning! I started with 2 bantams in April 2012 and now have lots more, and I also have 32 babies.

LOL!!!!!!! That is too funny!!!!! I meant the rooster!!!!!!!! Just didn't get it typed right!!!!! Writing has never been my strong suit!!!!!

You guys are hilarious! I read it knowing she was talking about the rooster, but when I read it again, I saw the hilarity of it. Don't you wish you could "pick your kids"? ha ha. Course, I'd pick the ones I have, I love them dearly, but to pick em cuz of their colors is hilarious.

I don't have a rooster yet. I had a "traumatizing" experience with a rooster when I was a kid.. my dad raised chickens and our Barred Rock Rooster (I hear they are pretty friendly.. uh...) would repeatedly chase me when I went out to help feed or whatever. He "got me" one day and from then on I was "done" with chickens. He never hurt me, just scared me. I'm 42 now and to think I'm "scared of a rooster" (when I have two horses and 2 kids... come on now) - I just laugh. I'm going to need a rooster to protect the girls.. once they grow up - they are 2 weeks old right now - and I think I might like to try for my own babies at some point. Although I'm hearing it's ALOT of work if you don't let mama hatch them. <sigh> decisions decisions.

LOL! I didn't even notice how it sounded until it was pointed out! LOL! I would of course pick mine kid! I don't know what I'd do without him!
My son was starting to get scared of our rooster, but my husband and I are trying to get him out of it. My son picked up one of our hens and the rooster jumped on him. I told him that next time he did it to kick him to show him who was boss, because the rooster didn't need to think it was ok to attack us. The rooster and my son are getting better.
I loved hatching my eggs in the incubator. It is a little more work, but you don't have to worry about a hen that is not in your control. You have more control in my opinion with an incubator.
